Star Wars Zero Company Classes & Specializations

A kit is Talent plus weapon class plus Spec 1, with Spec 2 after Cycle 18. Weapon type is independent of class except where an exotic forbids it. Ultimates spend shared Advantage, not Action Points. Rank gaps on the community ledger stay blank.

Hawks specialization

Steam says players can customize Hawks’ combat specialization and appearance. Hawks can take any of the eight standard classes. Jedi Padawan, Mandalorian Warrior, and Clone Commando stay on Tel-Rea, Cly, and Trick.

Eight standard classes

Any operator can take these. The eight standard classes are Assault, Gunslinger, Heavy, Medic, Scoundrel, Scout, Sharpshooter, and Soldier. Each has one Ultimate, one standard ability, and two passives. Heavy also has a third passive, Intimidating Posture.

  • Assault — Assault is a standard specialization any operator can pick: a mid-to-near closer who clears cover. EA calls it a frontline fighter that excels at maneuvering in battle.
  • Gunslinger — Gunslinger is a medium-range standard specialization. EA says it specializes in multi-target blaster attacks and fast strikes. Cly Kullervo is the authored gunslinger; any operator can still take the class.
  • Heavy — Heavy is a close-range standard kit. EA calls it a frontline combatant, heavily armored and tough as nails. It is the only standard class with a third passive, so five slots instead of four.
  • Medic — Medic is a support-range standard specialization. EA says it excels at healing and preventing injuries, and also raises allies in body and morale.
  • Scoundrel — Scoundrel is a standard medium-range specialization. EA calls it a wildcard, adept at taking advantage of situations without much preparation. Steam also names scoundrels as a squad archetype example. No authored operator is officially labelled scoundrel.
  • Scout — Scout is a standard specialization in the mid-to-far band. EA calls it ambush-and-recon training whose planning and timing benefit the entire team.
  • Sharpshooter — Sharpshooter is a long-range standard specialization. EA calls it an expert marksman that excels at picking off chosen enemies. Luco Bronc is the authored Umbaran sharpshooter.
  • Soldier — Soldier is a close-to-medium offensive specialization. EA frames it as a mainstay offensive unit using melee, grenades, heavy blaster fire, and a rocket launcher. Trick is the story operator in this conversation.

Four exotic classes

Not assignable to generic recruits. The four exotic kits are Jedi Padawan, Mandalorian Warrior, Astromech, and Clone Commando. One of each can be fielded at a time, Astromech excepted. Older Jedi, Mandalorian, and Clone Trooper URLs still resolve and point at these kits.

  • Jedi Padawan — Jedi Padawan is Tel-Rea Vokoss only. Both specialization slots stay on this exotic tree. Steam still names a Jedi as a squad archetype example. There is no custom Jedi.
  • Mandalorian Warrior — Mandalorian Warrior is Cly Kullervo only. She may use any weapon and every utility. After Cycle 18 she may add any standard class as Spec 2. Combat Jump stays if she respecs.
  • Astromech — Astromech is the droid combat class. Any droid built after buying the Droid Repair Bay can take it. More than one can be fielded. Hawks is still required on story missions. M-3VO is related Den staff, not confirmed as an astromech chassis.
  • Clone Commando — Clone Commando is Trick only, unlocked late through story progress. He keeps both specialization slots and may still pick standard classes. Deluxe content includes a 100th Clone Company weapon set theme.

How to read class information

Ability names and rank values come from the Zero Command class pages read September 23, 2026, with first-party confirmation only where Steam, EA, or the 1.1 notes name the same piece. Combat-card disagreements (Open Fire II, Easy Mark cost, Brutal Strike IV) are listed as conflicts, not averaged.

A reliable class entry still needs the in-game name, role, available abilities, equipment limits, and the build or patch where the behavior was observed.
