Units / operatives
Star Wars Zero Company Units Guide
The Steam description calls the deployable squad members operatives. Authored story operators have backgrounds, weapons, skills, and class options on their character pages. Custom recruits still need in-game names before they belong in this table.

Use the official term
This site uses operatives for squad members because that is the wording on Steam. “Units” is a useful search term, but it should not overwrite the game’s published terminology.
Authored operators
The field table covers Hawks, Trick, Kabb Uppercut, Jae Mordant, Tel-Rea Vokoss, Cly Kullervo, and Luco Bronc. Epic’s operator-build news page returned HTTP 403 on September 23, 2026, so this wiki does not quote a “best build” from it. Class, weapon, and skill notes come from PC Gamer, Zero Command, and the 1.1 notes instead.
| Operator | Species | Role | Class lean | Weapon lean |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hawks | Human | Protagonist / squad leader | Any standard specialization: Assault, Gunslinger, Heavy, Medic, Scoundrel, Scout, Sharpshooter, or Soldier. | Any of the four primary blasters: Pistol, Rifle, Repeater, or Longarm. Class does not lock the weapon. |
| Trick | Human (clone) | Soldier / Hawks’ Clone Wars companion | Starts in the Soldier conversation in both PC Gamer and the Zero Command Soldier page. | DC-17m Weapon System, exclusive once Clone Commando unlocks: anti-armor, longarm, and repeating modes. High base damage, and no upgrades or mods. |
| Tel-Rea Vokoss | Tognath | Jedi Padawan / exotic Jedi specialization | Jedi Padawan only. Both specialization slots stay on that exotic tree. | Dual Lightsabers only. She cannot take a ranged gun. Meditations replace utility gear, and the sabers have no weapon-mod slots. |
| Cly Kullervo | Mandalorian human | Gunslinger / exotic Mandalorian specialization | Starts as Mandalorian Warrior. Only she can take it, and only one can be fielded. | Any primary blaster and every utility. Weapon type is not locked to Mandalorian Warrior. |
| Luco Bronc | Umbaran | Sharpshooter / former Umbaran soldier | Listed as Sharpshooter. Story operators can respec to any non-exotic class; unique abilities stay. | Longarm Blaster is the Sharpshooter lean: 12 damage, +12 crit damage, 11% crit, long range, 2 AP per shot. |
| Kabb Uppercut | Felshi | Mercenary boxer / cybernetically enhanced | No official starting class is labelled. Do not assign Scoundrel without an in-game tag. | 1.1 notes confirm he uses the M-32 in combat. No damage, ammo, or class restriction is published for that gun. |
| Jae Mordant | Human | Operator / ore-baroness of Luunata | No official starting class is labelled. Any standard specialization is legal after a respec. | Any primary blaster. IGN treats her as a durable attacker, not a named gun specialist. |

Confirmed archetypes
Steam says operatives can range from scoundrels to astromechs, or even a Jedi. That is an example list. The eight standard classes and four exotic kits are on the classes guide.
What belongs in a maintained unit database
A reliable operative entry should have its in-game name, archetype, recruitment condition, available abilities, equipment limits, and the build or patch used to verify the data. This page does not turn an example list into an unsupported ranking.
