STAR WARS Zero Company PC Requirements

Steam and the developer launch FAQ publish the same two PC tiers for STAR WARS Zero Company. The FAQ adds the part the store page leaves out: the targets assume upscaling, and there is deliberately no Ultra specification.

Minimum specification

Steam and the launch FAQ pair the minimum hardware with a 1080p Low 30 FPS target, and both require a 64-bit processor and operating system. The FAQ adds one preference the store listing omits: Windows 11 is recommended over Windows 10.

  • OS: Windows 10/11 64-bit (the FAQ recommends Windows 11)
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600X
  • Memory: 16 GB RAM
  • GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1080, AMD RX 5600 XT, or Intel Arc B580
  • Storage: 50 GB
  • Published target: 1080p Low at 30 FPS

Recommended specification

The recommended tier is paired with a 1440p High 60 FPS target. Steam lists a Core i7-10700K or Ryzen 7 3700X, 32 GB of RAM, an RTX 3080 or RX 7800 XT, and 50 GB of storage. Read it together with the upscaling caveat below — the FAQ is explicit that this target is not a native-resolution figure.

  • CPU: Intel Core i7-10700K or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
  • Memory: 32 GB RAM
  • GPU: NVIDIA RTX 3080 or AMD RX 7800 XT
  • Storage: 50 GB
  • Published target: 1440p High at 60 FPS

Why there is no Ultra specification

This is the most useful answer in the launch FAQ for anyone with a high-end GPU. Asked why no Ultra tier is published, the team said that “over the course of development, we validated the game is actually more CPU bound.” The consequence, in their words: “adjusting individual graphical settings (even on higher end GPUs) does not have the same inflection on framerate as other genres.”

Two practical readings follow. Turning presets up or down is a weaker lever here than in most games, and a faster CPU matters more than the next GPU tier. The missing Ultra row is a deliberate decision rather than an omission.

The published targets are not native resolution

The FAQ states this plainly: “We recently removed ‘native’ from our PC specifications to be fully transparent ahead of launch.” Hitting the recommended target of 60 FPS at 1440p “is best accomplished using the game’s recommended default setting: TSR or vendor upscalers DLSS/FSR.”

So the 1440p High 60 FPS figure describes the game running with temporal upscaling enabled by default, not rendering every pixel at 1440p. Anyone sizing hardware against these numbers, or comparing them against a benchmark, needs that qualifier attached.

How to read the targets

The published FPS and resolution labels describe the two tiers with the default upscaling setting in place. They are not measured results for every mission, driver version, power limit, or background process, and they do not replace a hardware-specific test.

On drivers, the FAQ gives one instruction and no more: use the latest drivers available for your hardware, from NVIDIA, AMD or Intel directly. No minimum driver version is published. The FAQ also confirms that 32:9 and 21:9 ultrawide monitors are supported, which the store requirements do not mention — the rest of its answers are collected on the launch FAQ page.

Launch-day record

When reporting performance after release, include the build, driver, resolution, preset, upscaler setting, hardware, and scene context. Keep those measurements separate from the official requirements instead of turning one report into a universal guarantee. Community performance reports are handled on the stutter and optimization page.
